Econo Lodge Milldale - Southington

In the morning I asked for a full refund, but they only offered a 15% discount, and that was after charging me extra for my small dog. I had to wash all my things once I got home because the cigarette smell had soaked into them. My son woke with a bloody nose, and I felt nauseous. This happened after our family arrived for Thanksgiving: my wife, our 1.5-year-old baby, and I had booked a king bed in a non-smoking room weeks ahead. We checked in that night, got our key, and found a room that reeked of cigarettes, with a small bed. At the desk, I said they'd given us the wrong room. The woman said our room had been given away, they were fully booked, and this was all they had. We refused to accept that. I still can't believe they wouldn't give a full refund when I asked. Customers clearly aren't a priority here. A hotel that can't hold a reservation isn't one anyone should trust. STAY AWAY.

Parking was easy, and the location is convenient, right off the highway and close to restaurants, shops, and local attractions. For the price, I thought the value was unbeatable: a clean, comfortable, reliable stay without spending too much. The staff were welcoming and made an effort to keep me comfortable. My room was spotless, well kept, and had what I needed. The bed was comfortable, and it was quiet enough for a good night's sleep. I had an excellent stay at the Econo Lodge Milldale – Southington. I'd absolutely recommend it to people passing through or staying in Southington, and I'll definitely return.

We were there for a funeral and refused to stay after walking into the room with a 3-month-old and seeing roaches hanging from the ceiling. He had welts on his legs after just two minutes in the room, and we had to throw away his playpen and all our belongings. It was the worst hotel room I've ever been in, with bedbugs, roaches, and who knows what else. I love how you say we were never there. You were also supposed to refund our money and never did. You have records of everything I sent to Choice Hotels' main office.

The AC worked great, and the fridge and microwave were clean inside, which made me feel they pay attention to details. I came because, as a truck driver, I didn't want to idle my truck in weather over 90 degrees. The room was clean and really comfortable, with a large TV and lots of channels, and the price was reasonable. I saw the reviews about bed bugs and dirty rooms, but found no evidence of either. The room seems to have been updated recently. There's also truck parking, which is a bonus. It isn't a five-star resort, just a decent place for the money, and I'd stay again. I feel the negative reviews may be sour grapes. The moral is not to believe everything you read online.
