We had a clean, comfortable enough place to crash for the night, and the room itself was pretty good despite some wear. It had a kitchen and a comfy bed. The building and grounds looked pretty horrible, though, and the office smell and appearance weren't reassuring. In room 110, the Wi-Fi barely reached us. Our phones couldn't connect, and the laptops were slow. There was a plywood-covered hole where an old air conditioner had been, another hole with a replacement unit, and a thermostat on the wall. The old unit didn't work, and the thermostat seemed to control a separate system that also didn't work. Switching the fan from Auto to On and lowering the temperature made no difference.

The stay was going okay after we moved to a better room and cleaned it ourselves, but leaving turned into a mess. They inspected the room and kept my $40 deposit, saying I'd broken the front door latch. I'd told them when we arrived that the door was hard to open and close and the deadbolt wasn't working. Then they threatened to sue me over the latch as well. I called the police to make a report, and now I'm facing more costs in small claims court to try to get my deposit back. We left the room immaculate, but the staff member spent about 10 minutes looking for a reason to keep the money and settled on a worn-out, broken latch. The place seemed nearly empty, so maybe they were hard up for money. I'm still shocked by the accusations, and I've never had business staff speak to me that way. If that hadn't happened, it could have been a good stay despite the dirty rooms. We arrived for two nights and the first room was filthy: dirt across the bathroom floor, what my girlfriend thought looked like a tooth in the sink, mold in the shower, stains in the toilet, no toilet paper, dirty towels, used sheets, and unvacuumed carpets with drug paraphernalia under the bed. We went to the office, got another room that was better but still below standard, and cleaned the room and bathroom so we could stay.

The room was clean and roomy, with a great bed and soft sheets. Check-in was quick and friendly, and the price was a great value. I'll definitely come back on my frequent trips through New England when I need a place to rest.

A dirty place all around. The room smelled, hadn't been vacuumed or cleaned before I checked in, and had stains everywhere. Paint was peeling off the walls, the door frame was coming loose, and the toilet wasn't attached to the floor. The workers were friendly and the price was decent, but they need to try harder.
