Vine & Sand

Being able to explore the area by bike was a great touch. You can ride to the beautiful private beach or spend time by the firepit at the property. The covered heated pool and jacuzzi were another highlight, just let the staff know when you want to use them. We stayed in first-floor Room 1. It was spotless, very comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, with cozy robes and nice little details. Vine & Sand is a beautiful place and has the feel of a luxury B&B, which I preferred to a regular hotel. It’s conveniently close to the vineyards, too. I loved my stay and will definitely come back, hopefully for longer next time.

Before we left, I was already thinking I’d love to rent the whole place for my family someday. It was such a relaxing babymoon, and John and Mark (Marc?) were lovely and very accommodating. We stayed upstairs last summer. I got a welcome email when booking and was even given a room upgrade. The bed was comfortable even at seven months pregnant, and the bathroom was clean and well stocked. The fridge had water, yogurt, seltzer, and snacks, with a coffee and tea station available too. We spent the day at a nearby beach, then came back to the pool. You just text John and he opens the cover to keep it clean. The outdoor shower was fantastic. We ate at Little Fish both nights, a very short drive away, and recommend making a reservation. Mattebella Vineyard is also close, across Main Rd., and needs a reservation. Custer Observatory is a short drive away and open Saturday nights. I’m grateful we could relax before the baby arrived. Thanks again.

Mark and Johnny were welcoming hosts, and their dog Beatrix was just wonderful. Sand and Vine was spotless, comfortable, and had a great feel to it. The location worked perfectly for nearby restaurants and wineries. If you want a relaxing Long Island getaway, book it and enjoy.

We stayed for a long stretch over July 4th and loved it. The heated pool and breakfast were favorites, and the house itself was charming and ideally located. The hosts were great, easy to reach, accommodating, and full of local recommendations. They also keep snacks, sweets, drinks, and more stocked, which was a nice extra. Our room had a separate private bathroom. We liked having the extra space and would probably choose it again. It made a perfect home base for exploring the North Fork.
