Holiday Inn Express I-26 & Us 29 At Westgate Mall by IHG

I was at the Holiday Inn Express in Spartanburg, SC for a wedding from 10/10/25 to 10/13/25. I’d left a card with $200 on the room table while I went to get a pen from the lobby to sign it. When I came back, the money was gone. I searched the room, then immediately reported it to the manager. I was told there were no cameras in the room hallway because the hotel isn’t liable for lost or stolen items. I requested an audit of the door lock and was told only my key had been recorded entering the room. I filed an incident report with the hotel and a report with the Spartanburg Police Department, number 25100562. I also contacted corporate, but got no resolution or even an offer of a complimentary night, which wouldn’t have covered the amount anyway. I couldn’t sleep well the rest of my stay because I was so upset and kept wondering who had been in my room and how. The spending money in my wallet was untouched, as were my other valuables. Since they offered no solution or consideration for the loss of wedding gift money while I was in town for a wedding, I’ll never stay at a Holiday Inn Express again.
