Holiday Inn Express Spokane-Valley by IHG

I had to book at the last minute, and Holiday Inn came through again. My husband has been a diamond member for a while, and the friendly staff always treat me wonderfully. Wherever I am, in any city or state, I can find a stay through my app. The rooms are consistently clean and affordable, and the beds have very comfortable beds with clean sheets. Breakfast is included and has good choices for everyone, even picky eaters.

The staff were friendly, and there's a pool for the kids, but the noise was higher than I'd like. We were beside the staff laundry, and there was lint all over the sidewalk. My biggest concern was the location and crime. There was plenty of room for my U-Haul trailer, but someone cut its lock and broke in sometime between my dog walks at 6:30 and 10:30 in the morning. Luckily, a person on the freeway saw it starting to open and warned us before it could cause an accident.

I was overcharged for two nights and told it would be fixed next week. I can't say I felt they took responsibility for the hassle. It came across as though it was the computer's problem, not theirs. For what they charge, I don't think the hotel is worth it. I also find it hard to believe every five-star rating is genuine. The manager's replies to low reviews that I read seemed rude, as if she were saying she'd already discussed the issue with the reviewer and asking why they were telling the whole world about it.

I stay here often because it's one of the best Holiday Inn Express hotels in the area. It's close to the freeway, yet far enough away that traffic isn't audible. The staff are always friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are very clean. Breakfast is one reason I pick this hotel over others. The breakfast ladies are friendly and keep the area spotless. Monday through Wednesday, from 5 to 7 PM, the manager's special in the bar area offers snacks, wine, and beer, a nice way to unwind. Dawn runs it well and is friendly to everyone. Definitely worth considering.
