Rodeway Inn and Suites Spokane

A decent, inexpensive place for a stopover. The rooms are clean, there’s a great diner nearby, and getting onto the freeway is easy. They’re remodeling one side of the hotel, and from what I could see it should look nice once finished. The neighborhood is a bit rough and industrial, but that’s what you might expect from the area’s most cost-efficient hotel.

The workers are very nice, especially the girl at the desk, and they’ll usually try to help when there’s a problem. James, the maintenance worker, is great when you need help. They also let me stay until my paycheck came in, nearly a week later, even though I’d paid for one night and then realized I had no money and no car. I paid them back once I got paid. Service-wise, it’s a good place. The rooms are another story. They need a lot of work and seem untouched for years. In the kitchenette, none of the kitchen outlets worked, and neither did the oven or dishwasher. The AC/heater makes a loud noise, and other rooms I’ve seen always have something broken or outdated. There are also weird things that happen here. They have a bad bed bug problem upstairs and on the side near the office. If you want a nice-looking room, this isn’t the place.

I called to make a reservation and the young woman who answered was rude and wouldn’t listen. She said she couldn’t help, then refused to speak with me in Spanish and treated me even worse. She said she didn’t know, so I tried again in English. She then said she wasn’t available and hung up. I called back, and the person said in Spanish that if I understood, they wouldn’t answer me. Isn’t the staff member supposed to not speak Spanish? They could’ve treated me with some respect. If there’s a manager, I hope they hire better staff so they don’t lose customers.

We stayed Friday 3/20 and woke up with bites and several adult bed bugs. We took photos and brought one to the front desk. The staff there were very concerned but couldn’t do anything. Management was rude and wouldn’t refund us or cover the cost of having our clothes professionally treated before we went home. I’m adding this because the owner refused a refund, yelled, swore, and accused us of lying. They justified it by saying they were cheaper than every other hotel nearby. The photo evidence is of the adult bug we brought to the desk, where the staff were concerned but unable to help. There are multiple recent reviews about bed bugs too. Do not stay here.
