I’ve stayed in plenty of bad hotels around the country and usually haven’t left a negative review when the staff were friendly. Here, though, even the service made a poor stay worse. As a diamond member several times over, I asked for extended checkout, which is a diamond member privilege, and got sighs and attitude. The manager seemed not to care, and even mockingly said she’d tell the general manager how bad their service was. It was over $100 for one night, and I’ve had better stays at Super 8. The hotel layout is cool, but the inside feels old and shabby from poor upkeep. My door wouldn’t close properly, and the area felt sketchy enough that I kept checking on my car. Room service woke me at 8:30am despite the “do not deserve” sign on my door.

We paid over $100 for something that felt worth less than $50. I often use cheap motels to split up long drives, and last night the affordable ones were full, so we booked here. The staff were friendly, and I appreciated the 24-hour sauna. But our room smelled strongly of chemicals, the carpets were soggy, the shower had no hot water, the TV was broken, and holes in the curtains kept the room from getting fully dark. The front desk said they knew about the chemical smell and wet carpets because the room had recently been changed from smoking to non-smoking. They wouldn’t offer a discount or voucher. I understand rooms need maintenance, but I wish they’d warned us that potentially toxic chemicals might be lingering in the room.

The manager, Shaun, was genuinely helpful after our car was broken into, found footage of the people responsible on the hotel cameras, refunded our night, and spoke with employees about how to handle a situation like this. He said this kind of incident is uncommon there. It could happen at any hotel, and I’m grateful he did what he could, but I’ll be looking for better security from now on. We’d left the car in the lot for only 45 minutes, and the window was smashed; about $1,800 worth of Christmas shopping for my three kids was gone, including pajamas, wrapping paper, clothes, and three 10" tablets. The front desk clerk wasn’t compassionate and said we shouldn’t have left things in the car. She also said there were no cameras, though the manager later told me they did have them. I’m a single mom and had been planning the trip for quite a while. A friend and I went to Comfort Inn North for Black Friday shopping. It’s an older hotel, and we were in room 336. The door didn’t close properly unless you pulled it hard, and when we came back for a pit stop it wasn’t fully shut. We’d been forced to park in back because the hotel was packed. There are signs saying they aren’t responsible for theft or vehicle damage. Before this, the kids and I had loved staying here, and it was my favorite hotel in North Spokane. The two queen beds were comfy, the location is GREAT, and there’s a 24-hour hot tub and sauna, plus a seasonal pool. Golden Coral is right there. If they improved security so it felt safer, I’d stay again. Thanks to the Owner/Manager for doing what he could. Be safe, everyone.

The place went from decent to horrible for me. I stayed once: the price was reasonable and breakfast was okay, but nobody really acknowledged me and the front desk woman was somewhat rude. A couple of months later, I called to book and kept getting hung up on. They’d answer, say hello, then click. I thought it might be my phone at first, but it happened again when I called back. When I finally reached someone, they were rude. I asked if they’d match a third-party rate that would save me $15; she said no and hung up. I wanted to book with them, but the last time I called she said she couldn’t help and hung up again. I don’t know what’s going on with the front desk, but I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or waste your time.

The grandkids enjoyed the pool, but there wasn’t much value for the price. Our room was never made up, and the internet was slow or nonexistent. Another reviewer is right about the staff not being friendly. Fix the internet and I’d rate it three stars.
