Howard Johnson Hotel Spring City

Spring City is tiny, but it has a surprising range of small, independently owned restaurants with excellent food. The hotel itself was one of the most accommodating places I’ve stayed during all my business travel. The staff were the friendliest ever, and I wish I could bring them everywhere. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very minimal, but the staff’s attitude mattered more to me.

The curtains left us with limited privacy from the busy road in front: only the sheer ones close fully, while the thicker orange curtains cover about a quarter of the window. There’s no elevator to the second floor, either. The desk staff were really nice, and there are rocking chairs out front. Our room was nice and clean, and the beds were comfortable. The room pictured had two queen beds and a recliner, but ours didn’t have a chair.

We’ll book here again next time we’re in town. The staff were wonderful, and there’s a great restaurant next door within walking distance. We stayed in a second-floor suite with an excellent jacuzzi tub. The TV was confusing at first, but the front desk attendant helped us work out the remote and then it worked fine. The room was super clean, from the carpet and bathroom to the bathtub, and the bedding was comfortable. Like anywhere, there are pros and cons, but we really enjoyed the stay.

Everyone on the staff, including management, was super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is limited to fruit, cereal, and breakfast bars. There’s no elevator, as far as I could tell, and I believe the building is only two stories. The place was very clean, and the beds were SO comfortable, better than beds at some higher-end hotels. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return.
