Neptune's Grotto Waterfront Retreat

We stayed in Sirenity, which was adorable, with mermaid details everywhere, right down to the mugs. Jason the owner and his wife have thought of so much, including the retro teal green appliances and a mini waffle maker that works great. Walmart has pancake mix in little plastic jugs that you can just add water to and shake. The room was spotless, thanks to Allison, who also shared tips about local sights. The bed was super comfortable, and the heat and AC both worked great. After a long day walking along the beach, the spa was a welcome place to relax. It’s a lovely little spot at a bend in the river where manatees hang out right outside your room. Kayaks are included, and you can paddle around to see lots of wildlife. We’ll be back.

We came for two days of kayaking, relaxing, and wildlife, and Neptunes Grotto was just right. The Sirenity Room had a decor we loved, plus everything we needed for a peaceful stay: coffee maker and coffee, microwave, fridge, even ice and bug spray. The whole two-day deal cost about as much as renting kayaks alone would have. Such a fabulous hidden gem. Jason and his team took care of everything we needed, and we can’t wait to return and see manatees. Love you guys!

My favorite part was sitting outside at the picnic table with my coffee each morning and watching manatees swim through the channel. We picked the perfect time for it. The location was great, close to all kinds of attractions and restaurants, and our room was very clean. The hosts were wonderful whenever we had questions or needed anything. We stayed 12/12 - 12/18 2025. We took the kayaks out on the canal a few times to see the manatees, though we didn't fish. Fishing poles were available, and we used the fire pit several nights. I've already talked about bringing the family back next year and renting the whole place. Five stars!

The Vintage Mermaid had such a cute layout, and the bed was really comfortable. We saw manatees in the river too. Love this place, highly recommend!
