Tru By Hilton Spring Hill

Having Publix right next door made it easy to grab whatever we needed. The hotel also had quick highway access, while still feeling quiet and private. Staff, rooms, and common areas were excellent, and everything felt clean, modern, and well maintained. We had a fun, comfortable stay at Tru by Hilton, with everything close by and easy to get around.

The internet was down, so we couldn't pre check, and it still wasn't working in our room. We were told the hotel opened in December, but this was its official grand opening party. When we walked in, nobody greeted us. The staff were outside by the fire for the event. For a hotel grand opening, I would have expected more professionalism and care. The room was hot, and although we tried to turn the air down, it wouldn't go below 65 and no air came on. I called the front desk twice, but nobody answered. By 8pm the staff seemed pretty nonchalant. Hoping for a better stay next time. We usually love our Tru experiences.

The room felt unfinished, almost like a dorm, and the bare, simple setup made the echo noticeable. There weren't enough soft surfaces. The king room had a delightfully comfortable bed and four pillows, plus a tiny desk and rolling chair, a bench, tiny side table with a phone, slightly larger side table with a lamp, a table with a mini fridge underneath, one trash can, TV, half sized ironing board and iron, and a floor lamp left by itself in a sad corner. There was a full length mirror, exposed bar for a closet, hair dryer, solid surface floors, shower mat, and towels. The WiFi signal was good, heating worked fine, the room darkening shades did their job, and water pressure was good. This is a very basic, bare bones Hilton property. Also, the hotel is right behind Publix, but Google Maps doesn't know how to get there and sends you along backroads. That was unpleasant at 10pm in an unfamiliar place, though it's not the hotel's fault.

We were traveling from Wisconsin to Florida and chose this hotel based on online reviews. It's brand new, so everything was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic. The mini omelets with toppings were the best, and the coffee was hot. Congratulations on your new place!
