La Quinta Inn and Suites by Wyndham Houston Spring South

There was a strong smell of weed in the hallway the next morning, and room cleaning isn’t daily, so you have to get fresh towels yourself. At check-in on 2-13-26, the desk clerk took about 15 minutes even though I’d completed pre-check-in the day before for a wedding trip. I’m a Diamond member, but he said there were no suite upgrades, and there were no rooms on the parking-lot side either. I said to give me anything so I could get to dinner with family. Room 211 had no TV at all. When we went back down, my husband asked how they could rent a room without a TV, and the clerk didn’t respond. We waited another five minutes for a different room, with no apology or anything.

The pool was green and unusable, and the mini fridge in our room smelled awful. The rooms had a wet-rag and mold odor. Unless you request housekeeping, they don’t clean the room, and even after we asked, they only replaced the shampoo and towels. They left everything else, didn’t vacuum or sweep, and didn’t change the sheets. We ended up taking out our own trash.

I arrived to find a room that didn’t look clean, and the sheets looked reused rather than freshly changed. That was disgusting. I asked for housekeeping, but nobody came, and staff said they were short-staffed. For what I paid, I expected clean bedding and a room that was properly maintained. Very disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The staff were very nice, and the bathroom was good. The room was fairly nice, but the AC had been left on full blast, making it a chilly 62 when I arrived, along with a strong mildew or mold smell. The room was on the top floor, so there was noise. No BBs. I didn’t pay for the room, so I didn’t ask to switch.
