Fullerton Inn

The bed was comfortable, and the reception staff were friendly. I missed breakfast because service is limited to 8-9am, so I can’t comment on it. This is a small village hotel where part of what you pay for is the old hotel atmosphere. If that’s what you want, it’s a good choice; if not, it may feel overpriced. I was here to ski and wasn’t looking for ambiance, but nearly everything else nearby was booked. The place matched its website description, so I wasn’t disappointed. After a heavy snowfall overnight, I appreciated that the parking lot had been plowed before 6am.

We came to the Fullerton Restaurant for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. The outside of the building doesn’t tell you what the inn and restaurant are like inside. There were so many menu options that choosing was tough, but my husband and I both ordered the short rib after the waitress recommended it. She was right, it was delicious. Dinner was a treat, and the service was excellent.

Five of us came to the Fullerton Inn hoping to enjoy dinner and cocktails and spend our money there, but the man in the bar area seemed not to want our business. When we asked if two tables could be put together, he yelled at us and was rude and unwelcoming. It was very off-putting, and the decor didn’t help. We were disappointed and won’t return.

Dinner was excellent, with a great steak and very pleasant wait staff who made the meal fun. The inn itself was disappointing, though. The beds were hard as rocks, the pillows weren’t much better, and street noise, including trucks, went on late and made sleep difficult. We were told to leave the deck by 6 pm because of a “car show,” even though we were staying there. It turned out there were only five cars. We moved to a second-floor deck attached to one of the rooms, but it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. We won’t be back.
