Canyon Vista Lodge

We were surprised by the positive reviews. This bed-and-breakfast had no breakfast included, which was a first for us. You could buy vouchers, but the restaurant was 1 1/2 miles away, not convenient or a leisurely walk. We had to drive into town in the morning for breakfast, drive back to the lodge, then walk a quarter mile to the shuttle stop. The property didn't look like the pictures or description. The exterior was badly kept: the stone driveway and parking area were rough, the grass looked about six inches high and like it hadn't been cut in two weeks, and the landscaping looked awful. The fire pit had a two-foot-wide anthill on it, and the scrap wood looked like it'd been piled there for ages. The patio and area around the hot tub were atrocious, and we wouldn't step into them. It was nowhere near a “garden jacuzzi.” The patio needed sweeping or blowing off, the furniture was pretty crappy, and the seat cushions were gross. The room was fairly clean and the beds were comfortable, but it was just old and musty rather than quaint. The smell got into all the clothes in our luggage, and we could still smell it for the rest of our trip. There was mold in the tub caulk too. Nothing about the property or check-in felt inviting. This was our worst stay on our Utah trip and easily the worst bed-and-breakfast. It may have been nice once, but it's completely rundown now. Other guests we met were just as disappointed. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

JoNell was friendly and added thoughtful personal touches that made us feel welcome during our two-night weekend getaway. Our room was clean and spacious but still cozy, and the bed was very comfortable. Although the property isn't far from the road, it was quiet. It's a great location, just minutes from the park and on the edge of town beyond the busiest stretch. We used the breakfast vouchers at Oscar’s Cafe and thought it was worth it. The price also felt very reasonable compared with other options. This was a hidden gem near Zion, and my wife and I will definitely stay again.

The hot tub felt great after a long day of hiking, and the breakfast vouchers were an excellent bargain for some really good food. Our room was spacious and fit our family comfortably. I hadn't realized when booking that there was a second bedroom tucked away at the back, which made the stay even better for us.

The breakfasts at Oscar's Cafe, covered by our vouchers, were huge, delicious, and filling. We'd get up early, then eat our “breakfast” for lunch at 11 or 11:30 after our hikes. The room was even more lovely and accommodating than we'd hoped, and having a small kitchenette was really nice. The nearest Springdale bus stop is a five-minute walk from the lodge, and the bus runs often, making it easy to get around town and to the park.
