Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Springfield, OH Hotel

I misplaced my wallet, which is on me, and asked whether we could check cameras to see if I’d dropped it outside my room and someone had picked it up. First I was told the camera room was locked, then that there were no cameras except one in the lobby that doesn’t record. I’ve never heard of a hotel this large, part of a big chain and with a swimming pool, having no security cameras around the building or in the hallways. That seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen. I asked for the manager and was told she’d be there at 3 p.m. I spoke with her, described my wallet, then called back twice to ask whether it had turned up. Nothing was found, so I’ll have to accept the loss, transfer everything over, and move on. Again, losing it was my fault, but having no cameras is unacceptable for staff and guest safety. For all I know, a staff member could have picked it up and kept it. I’m not saying that happened, just that I wouldn’t know. If another kind of crime happened here, there’d be no evidence. They should install cameras ASAP. The rooms were clean, but there was a bad smell, and it seems other reviewers have mentioned it too. I’ll never use this hotel chain again.
