Courtyard Springfield Downtown

We've been coming to the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Springfield for more than ten years, and each stay has been reliably good. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and attentive, and both the hotel's food and its dining and drink options nearby are convenient. Our rooms have consistently been clean and comfortable, with lovely views and dependable temperature control in every season. The pool is a favorite with our children, who look forward to it each time. Thanks to the whole team for keeping this such a welcoming, dependable place. We hope to return for many years.

Room #602 was on the top floor and had what I thought was the best view of the Christmas tree and lights below during Holiday in the City. The balcony was a lovely bonus. The room was very clean and nice, and the service was nice too. This is a great spot in downtown Springfield, OH. Expect to pay around $220 for one night plus breakfast. I'd happily stay again on another visit to Springfield, OH.

Clean, pleasant hotel and helpful front desk, but it feels like they're trying for luxury on a budget. There's no free coffee downstairs, and without a microwave, hot water for tea has to come from the coffee bar. The fridge is tiny, and there isn't a microwave in the room either. We knew there was no free breakfast from the website, but the paid one is like the free breakfast at other hotels, so it doesn't seem worth it. The location is okay. We didn't hear the train tracks right next door, but there's no fence, so you could walk straight onto them. The pet fee ended up costing more than the room, which is crazy. We knew it was $75, but after tax and the $3 parking fee, the total was higher than the room charge.

The second-shift gentleman was absolutely amazing, but the first shift was awful. There was a sprinkler incident on the fifth floor, and we were on the second. Water did reach our floor, and we had to stay in our room because the hotel had no alternative arrangements. We were okay with that, but two men then walked right into our room without warning. Our room was supposed to be comped because of what happened, but we were charged three times the amount and have only been offered a partial payment. It's March seventh and I still haven't received the full refund they promised. They're giving me the runaround and acting like it's my fault, when this happened because their staff aren't properly trained. I have photos of everything if anyone wants to see them.
