Hilton Garden Inn Eugene/Springfield

The room was dusty, the bathroom didn’t feel properly cleaned, and the shower had visible buildup. Furniture looked worn and dated, with scratches and stains, and there was a strange smell that stuck around even after I ran the fan for hours. The front desk staff seemed distracted and rushed from the start, barely welcoming guests. Even asking about nearby food or requesting extra towels felt like a bother. It was hard to sleep with conversations, TVs, and slamming doors coming through the thin walls late at night. The HVAC was loud and kept switching on and off, so the room was uncomfortable. Breakfast was disappointing too. The food seemed to have been sitting out too long, and service was slow despite a quiet dining room. For what it offers, the place felt understaffed, poorly maintained, and overpriced. I expect more from a Hilton-branded hotel. There are plenty of other places in Eugene/Springfield, and I’d recommend choosing one of them.

There was a mildew smell across the first floor, strongest near the pool. Breakfast was awful. I’ve included a photo of strawberries with black ooze on the second layer of the bowl. If that was considered fit to put out, I hate to think what might be in the kitchen. This was the last room in town, so I had no choice, and they charged me a lot. I’m bitter about paying over $300. For that price, the strawberries should at least be fresh.

The street is pretty busy, especially at rush hour, but I’d still recommend staying here. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and tidy. Sage, the blond kid, gave phenomenal service. He was kind, respectful, very professional for someone so young, and made sure I had everything I needed. The service was wonderful.

Our room looked straight at an air unit on the roof, as you can see in the photo. They also wanted $10 for parking, which I’ve never been asked to pay at a hotel where I’m staying. Continental breakfast cost another $14. I’ve had better amenities at a hospital than at this Hilton.
