Holiday Inn Express Springfield- Dayton Area

We were in town for a tournament with a large group, and Allen and his staff handled us with ease. They were available, eager to help, and even came over to ask if we needed anything. That kind of service was refreshing, and I highly recommend the place. The hotel was clean, welcoming, and convenient, with excellent service. The hot breakfast was a big plus, especially the delicious fresh-ground coffee. We were very happy with our stay.

The room was clean, but it was worn out and dated, with lots of damage to the walls and furniture. Even the basic furnishings and things like the alarm clock felt cheap and low quality. The shower had weak pressure because the water flow was limited, and the tub spout was broken. There wasn’t a coffee maker or anything like one in the room. I wouldn’t stay again.

The breakfast was really good, and check-in was quick. It was easy to get in and out of the location. But for the price, the room was terrible: the paint and drywall were peeling, and the tub spout sat about three-quarters of an inch away from the tub. The pool was closed, and we weren’t told when we made the reservation.

The room was so bad we checked out and asked for a refund. The couch was stained, cabinet doors were missing and exposed mold, there was an ant on the bed and more coming out of the air conditioner, and the fridge didn’t work. The desk clerk was nice and said she didn’t know why they were putting anyone in that room. She said her manager would contact us about a refund. The next day he messaged that no refund would be given. He said we could have switched rooms, but after seeing how he runs the hotel, no thanks. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. This was probably the worst hotel I’ve ever been in.
