The place was quiet, and everything in our room worked. Water pressure was great, too, though the bed was hard as a rock. The hotel feels dated, and the lamp had rust at the base, maybe from cleaning spray, plus the shade looked like someone with dirty hands had touched it. There was also rust in the sink. Staff were welcoming, check-in was fast, and being close to Hwy 65, restaurants, and stores was handy. We’d stay again, hoping for a softer bed.

Tamara was sweet to us both nights, and McDonald's right across the parking lot was convenient after the long drive. We were there for a weekend getaway, May 22 - May 24. The location was okay, nothing especially good or bad. We didn’t plan to spend much time in the room, so the mini fridge in our single king was helpful and the room being underwhelming wasn’t a deal breaker. Still, the tiny bathroom surprised me, and my husband thought the sink water tasted awful, so we bought bottled water. The bed made the weekend rough. It was incredibly hard and left us both sore, and the two pillows each were about half normal size, uncomfortable, and kept losing their shape. I had to keep moving them around, and neither of us slept much, which was especially frustrating with the drive and our plans. I asked the desk for normal pillows and was told there weren’t any. A couple thin blankets were offered, but barely helped. The next night Tamara was working and found us a couple regular-size pillows, which helped a little. She’s the main reason I’m giving this three stars. Without her I’d probably say one or two. We’ll return to Springfield, just not this hotel.

I took one of the roaches from the bathroom to the desk in an ice bucket, and Tamra said I’d get a refund. It still hasn’t arrived, and I’m also out $25 in fees from booking through my work. There were roaches in the sink and another running across the bathroom floor. When I called, the desk lady acted like she knew nothing about it; she said they were fully booked and couldn’t move us, which was convenient. The room looked run down, though I could’ve put up with that. I’d booked on my work benefits page because the reviews looked good, but later I checked Google and saw bugs mentioned a fair bit. By then it was almost 11pm and we had our two kids with us, so we urgently searched for somewhere else. I didn’t want to find out what might be in the beds. We found a room at the Baymont across the street, which I highly recommend. Don’t stay at the Quality Inn unless you want to bring a special friend home.

We were there for a weekend bowling tournament and had planned to leave a great review. Then, on Saturday night while relaxing in bed, I spotted a black cord with a little black box. Looking closer, I thought it was a tiny camera. I took pictures and sent them to my military buddies, including two still serving in military intelligence, and they agreed it was a camera. Having that in our room felt disrespectful, disgusting, and like an invasion of privacy. The hotel should reimburse us for the room. There were other problems, too. The room was dirty despite room service saying it had been cleaned, with dirt everywhere and an unclean bathroom floor. The woman at the counter seemed unprofessional and wouldn’t give us my military discount. Several spots in the concrete foundation are cracking and falling apart. It looks like one earthquake could bring it down. We’ll never stay here again.

Pet friendly, and the price wasn’t bad. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, with everything I needed. The bed was nice, and the staff were super friendly. I’ll probably stay here again when I’m back this way.
