Squaw Valley Motel

Becky was very friendly and flexible about what we needed, and we usually had a nice chat in the mornings. The pool was spotless, and we made use of the grill on the property. We spent five nights in room 7 while visiting Sequoia NP, which is nearby. The place has a lot of potential, though it’s still a work in progress. Our room was very small and could really use a few hooks for hanging things. Thank you.

The self check-in was quick and easy. We got an email ahead of time with directions to our bungalow and the entry code, and we didn’t meet any staff, so I can’t comment on them. Inside, the motel was clean and the room was big enough for our one-night stop, though not spacious. It’s an older motel, and the hot water took so long that at first we thought there wasn’t any, but it didn’t spoil the stay. After a long drive, the outdoor area was a nice place to relax. We picked Squaw Valley for its setting in nature and because it seemed likely the closest stop to Sequoia from that direction. The road is only a few meters away, but the rooms face inward and there was almost no traffic at night. It was absolutely quiet apart from the birds. We stayed on the way from Yosemite to Sequoia and had first considered a motel in Fresno. Recommended 👍🏽

You book this spot for its location near the sequoia park and the beautiful surroundings. The motel is old-school and sits beside a busy road, so it’s noisy. It wasn’t especially comfortable, but earplugs made it doable. It has the basic necessities, plus air-conditioning.

We arrived late at night and the contactless check-in went smoothly. The motel was an easy drive from the park, and we’d happily return. Our family stayed two nights. The room was small but nicely maintained, clean, and seemed recently remodeled. The beds were comfortable, and having a microwave and fridge was handy. They also provided tea and coffee, and the picnic tables outside worked well for breakfast. I’d recommend staying here.
