Royal Inn at USC and Fort Jackson Columbia

This is the nastiest hotel. The whole area around it smells like weed, there's trash everywhere, and random people walking around outside made me feel unsafe with all the drugs around. This place should be condemned, and the cops should be there.

The place was so dirty and in the hood. There were holes in the walls, the toilet seat was yellow, and the sink had blue paint on it. The tub paint was peeling, the TV didn't work, and wood was coming off the door. The bed was really hard, and our key card wouldn't let us in, so the janitor had to open the door with her key. The older lady charged us $100 for this kind of room. We had just one working lamp, and there was a lot more wrong with it.

I love this place. They are strict about who they let stay, but I understand why. The staff are respectful. They're older, but still nice. I've had no problems since I started coming and going here in 2023.

The room and facility were gross, old, and dirty. The pillows looked about ten years old, and everything seemed old and broken. I didn't want to touch anything and didn't feel safe or clean. We talked about sleeping in the car, but we'd already paid, and after a 10-hour drive it was the middle of the night, so I stayed. The attendant was behind glass the whole time, and I had to yell through the pass-through slot. I went in the morning, afternoon, and evening, but the lobby door was never unlocked.
