Courtyard by Marriott St Augustine I-95

Our remodeled room on the 3rd floor was a good size and nicely finished, and the bathroom was nice too. The remodel is almost done. Please get the shower water pressure up! There’s a bistro in the lobby, or you can walk to Bojangles next door.

Morgan was the only good part of this stay. He was genuinely sweet, kind, and helpful. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, there was no soap in the bathroom, and parking was a nightmare. Even around 10 PM there were no spaces because of construction, and nobody warned us or offered another option. The open-layout WOMEN bathrooms downstairs were completely unacceptable: no stalls, no toilet paper, and no running water or SOAP. The night staff were awful. The woman working overnight wasn't helpful and took five minutes to acknowledge me at the desk, and that happened multiple times. One great employee couldn't make up for everything else. Very disappointing, I wouldn't stay here again.

We were traveling from Miami to New Orleans and stopped for a break. The room was extremely clean, the bathroom immaculate, the A/C worked great, and the pool area was clean. The place was under renovation, but that wasn't indicated anywhere. The hot tub wasn't operational, which was a huge disappointment because it was the one amenity I was looking forward to for a relaxing evening with my husband after being on the road. We were lucky to have brought an extension cord for the CPAP, since the outlets beside the bed were worn and didn't work.

After three freezing showers, ice-cold face washing and shaving, I’m done with this place. Management seems to treat having no hot water as a minor inconvenience. I arrived late and figured the water might need more than half an hour to warm up; it only shifted from freezing to room temperature. At 5 a.m. I let it run for an hour, with no luck, then had a cold shower and ended up late for my meeting without time to tell the front desk. I came back late to another icy shower. The next morning I reported it. The woman at the desk was very apologetic and said she’d ask her manager about Marriott points, since she was only allowed to offer 5,000 and felt this deserved more. I thanked her, then got an email saying I’d be given 5,000 points. The Hilton a few miles away has hot water, accommodating staff, complimentary water in the room, and other amenities I didn’t have here, for the same price. I’ll stay there next time I’m in town.
