Hibiscus Oceanfront Resort

D203 felt like home as soon as we walked in. It was clean and had thoughtful attention to detail, and we loved having an ocean view.

The place is rundown, and it’s a long walk to the beach. The bathroom ceiling is falling apart. I stayed with my parents for three nights and two days, and strange screeching sounds from a bird or frog outside my bedroom window kept me awake in the middle of the night. The TV and one bedroom ceiling light also turned on by themselves. I don’t recommend staying here.

We stayed in G302, and the master shower had black mold. There was a poop 💩 stain on the guest shower curtain, and neither toilet looked as if it had been brushed in months. It looked nice when we opened the door, but once inside, the filth was obvious. We bought cleaning supplies and scrubbed the ring off the master tub and cleaned the toilets ourselves. I posted pictures. Several years ago we stayed in Building E, where the beds were made but the sheets hadn’t been washed and had sand in them. I didn’t realize this was the same place when our neighbor picked it, or we wouldn’t have booked again. The landscaping was lovely, and the squirrels were precious. We swam in the lower pool. The upper pool by the hot tub was cloudy and full of debris, with leaves, sticks, and a pair of diving goggles at the bottom. Just a heads-up, this place isn’t accessible for people with disabilities. There’s no elevator, so if you’re not on the first floor, you’re stuck.

The building could use a little love, but the inside was well cared for. Our one-bedroom with one and a half baths was perfect for us, and the kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. The pool isn’t heated, but there’s a nice barbecue area for spending time with family. The walk to the beach is a bit long, though the view is amazing. I loved that they had beach chairs and kids’ toys to take along. Having an assigned parking spot was great since finding one can be difficult. We had a great stay.
