Smart Stay Inn - Saint Augustine

We come back three or four times a year and just celebrated my birthday here. The hot tub was great as usual, and the place is always clean and quiet. We love the breakfast and the staff, who do such a good job keeping it comfortable and safe for a weekend away. Thanks to all of them. We’ll be back very soon!

The staff were friendly, but the cleanliness was awful. We paid $208 for one night after booking at the last minute, and couldn’t even sleep in the bed. There were lots of black hairs beneath the blanket. We slept on top of it in our clothes and used our own towels under our heads because we couldn’t use the hotel towels. There was also a lot of little trash on the floor. I’ve never had an experience like that. Breakfast wasn’t any better. When we arrived at 9, there were quite a few people, spilled coffee, and a messy area, so we left to eat somewhere else. Old furniture or a broken TV I can understand, but not a room left this dirty after cleaning. They need more staff and closer checks on the quality of their work. Friendly staff, yes. Clean room, no.

We had a little staycation and wow, this is the place for it. Chrissy was a big help, and everyone on staff was so kind. The facilities are amazing, with a hot breakfast, gym, and hot tub. They really made us feel like family. Thanks, Smart Stay Inn.

The staff were all really nice, and the fenced dog area and playground are great. But the room smelled strongly of dirty, sour mop water. At this point, I think the carpet would have to come out to fix it. It was bad. There’s also a big gap under the dog area gate that a smaller dog could get through. This place could be nice with more attention to room cleanliness.
