Americas Best Value Inn & Suites St. Clairsville Wheeling

Traveling alone with my kids, I really appreciated how welcome the front desk gentleman made us feel. It’s a peaceful place, and he was so kind and reassuring. So far, it’s just been a good place to stay.

The breakfast was pretty limited and didn’t impress me much, but the room was clean and the price was good. I’d worried about bed bugs and stayed anxious, though thankfully I didn’t find any. For the cost, it’s a decent option.

I stayed here 12-16 and found dozens of bedbugs in Room 219. I was bitten at least 10-20 times overnight while asleep. The front desk woman was kind enough to give me trash bags for my clothes and other belongings, but nobody offered a refund or voucher. Maybe the hotel wasn’t responsible for the bugs being in 219, but there should have been a better response to a paying guest. Now I have to wash everything, worry about bringing bugs into my own home, and buy new socks just to get back to Maryland.

For the price, this is hard to beat. The facilities were clean, breakfast was a simple light meal and included, and there was even a mini fridge, which I don’t usually get at places like this. Go ahead and book here.
