We paid close to $200 for the Coral room at St George Inn on Feb 18, 2026, and it was a huge disappointment. There were three of us, and the pullout couch was supposed to be a queen. The frame may have been queen size, but the mattress was only a full, with a huge stain in the middle. I had to flip it over to sleep on it. The sheets had bleach spots, and there were no blankets or pillows. I also couldn't fill the bathtub properly because there was no plug, so I had to hold a washcloth over the drain with my foot. Getting our luggage to the third floor was a struggle, especially since there were no elevators and, in places, only a two-inch handrail. I'm 69 and need to hold a rail on stairs. The other two women with me were 70 and 69. A couple behind us were struggling too. They were in their 80s and said they'd booked a first-floor room, but their reservation had apparently been lost. I felt awful for them. We didn't discover the bed problem until after dinner. When we went to the front desk, it had closed at 7 o'clock, so we couldn't get help with pillows or blankets. I wouldn't recommend this place or stay here again.

We chose the express room for a quick weekend visiting friends and knew we'd hardly be in it. It's just a bunk bed, bathroom, fridge, and microwave, and it's very small. Check-in was great and the lobby is cute, but the room and bathroom let us down. The room felt both tired and unfinished, was humid, and had a loud window AC unit. A towel was being used as a window curtain. The door stuck so badly we practically had to body-slam it each day, and the TV wouldn't play anything. There were several useless light switches and only one outlet. This is also the only room in the hotel with a window unit, though it worked well enough. The bathroom was disgusting, with dirty floors, rusty fixtures, and mold throughout the shower and nearby area. The shower leaked across the floor, and the exhaust fan was broken. I know we paid a fairly low rate for their smallest room, but the poor cleaning and need for renovations made it a no for us. We also had to make our own beds at check-in and were given only two towels, with no washcloth, hand towels, or bathmat. I expect basic hospitality when I stay at a hotel. Even a Holiday Inn or Motel 6 provides that, and I expected as much or better from a local hotel a block from the beach. We were disappointed.

The owners are updating this quaint, memorable hotel while holding onto its old charm. Every room has a different theme, which is a lovely touch. It's not for anyone looking for a modern hotel, but if you like personal service and that old-fashioned guest-service feeling, you'll enjoy it. We needed a few extra amenities for our family, and everyone was helpful. The hospitality and care we received during our stay were wonderful. They were very accommodating throughout our vacation.

We'd never been to a Florida beach before and came hoping to go shelling. Everyone was so nice, and Christopher signed us in even though we had no reservation. It was no problem at all. I'd definitely recommend staying at the inn.

The location is hard to beat, with the beach a five-minute walk away and lots of restaurants nearby. I paid about $650 for four nights, including a $110 pet fee, for the smallest room, under the stairs and next to the ice machine. It was maybe 40 sq ft including the bathroom. The window didn't have a full curtain, and you couldn't see the TV from the bottom bunk. I knew I was booking the cheap bunk room, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Then the roaches came out, and I left a day early. Before that, I'd already noticed housekeeping had left its broom, powder residue on the sink handles, and someone else's hair in the shower. It's ironic they left a tip envelope, when the room wasn't very clean. They also don't clean your room during your stay unless you're there more than four days. If you can put up with a not-super-clean, uncomfortable room with roaches at a moderate price, this is the place for you.
