Motel 6 Saint George, UT

I was disgusted by the room. There were stains on the towels, curtains, and both beds' coverlets, and a foul smell throughout. The bed linens themselves were clean. The hotel was full, so I couldn't switch rooms. I don't know whether management failed to replace things or housekeeping failed to report their condition, but someone needs to take pride in the property. The front desk person was friendly and helpful, and the housekeeping staff I passed around the property were friendly too.

The price was just right, though the room's condition matched what I paid. The door didn't seem to shut all the way, the bedding had odd stains, and there was dust everywhere. I also found a strange, lube-like substance on the nightstand. If you stay, be aware of what you're paying for.

There’s a great dog park nearby, and if you have dogs, you should seek out this free park. The location is also convenient, close to a Maverick and a Denny’s, with easy access to Costco. They offer coffee and hot chocolate in the morning, and the employees I spoke with were very pleasant.

The floors were so dirty they got my socks filthy. I bought bleach and Lysol and scrubbed them myself with the bath towels, which ended up unbelievably dirty. I used my own towels and shower gel, and even brought in my comfy blanket from Target. This place hasn't been cleaned well in years. Who's managing it? They need to buy cleaning supplies and have someone check the rooms after the maid is done. Maybe then they'll raise the rate, but honestly this room shouldn't cost more than $35. Motel 6 corporate doesn't seem to care either. Sad to see a once dependable brand end up this way. Don't leave the light on for me, Tom Bodett, it probably doesn't work anyway.
