The front desk staff were kind and friendly, but I can't find other positives. We canceled the rest of our stay, gave up the cost of one night, and moved a block down the road to another hotel. I wouldn't recommend this place. The room and halls smelled awful, as if they badly needed dehumidifiers, and everything felt very outdated. There was a random piece of wood screwed to the wall, maybe covering a hole, though I couldn't tell. Some doors to non-hotel bedrooms were left open; a few had no doorknobs and were full of junk. We also had to carry a week's luggage down a whole flight of stairs because there are no elevators. Our sliding doors wouldn't lock, and the room door opened without the key. This place needs a complete remodel, or to be torn down and rebuilt.

My family and I had a great stay and would definitely recommend Baymont St. Ignace. The location was good, and the shuttle picked us up and dropped us off. Everyone at the front office was welcoming. Carlos, Beca and Fathima were excellent, and they answered every question promptly.

The room was huge and quiet, the beds were good, and breakfast was great. The bathroom needed work, though, and the floor was dirty. We didn't have time to try the amenities, but in warmer weather with more time it looked like it could be fun to play yard games, swim in the lake, or have a bonfire. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Decent place to stay, and I'd recommend it.

The one good thing was the hot water, perhaps because nobody else was at the hotel. There was no staff from 7pm-7am. The rooms need updating, and you could smell mold where air conditioner water had run onto the carpet.

There's a small beach, and the hotel is about a mile from the ferry. The room was spacious, but the bathroom was a bit small, and there were some bugs swatted on the wall. Road traffic was a little loud from our court-side room, so if I stayed again I'd probably choose a lake-side room. It was a good hotel to stay at.
