Rooms 215 and 216 had no hot water while the hotel was full. I called the front desk on Friday night, and the clerk told me to run the water for 20 minutes before showering. It still never got hot. She said she’d leave maintenance a note for the next day. On Saturday, I spoke with the front desk before heading out to see the city, and the clerk wrote the room numbers on a sticky note for maintenance. When we returned, there was still no hot water. I called again, got the same clerk, and heard the same explanation, with no change. After checkout, my husband contacted the GM, who forwarded his email to the AGM. Both said it was the first they’d heard about the problem. So either management or the front desk wasn’t being truthful about what had happened. Other people have complained about the hotel’s hot water before, too. I don’t recommend staying here.
Our room was clean and really nice, and the staff were personable and pleasant the whole time. They were exceptionally kind and helpful when Hotels.com tried to screw us over, and saved us from being left without a room. LaKisha and Laqonda were especially understanding and helpful. Parking can be difficult when there are busy events, though.
The breakfast was hot, and the service there was outstanding. Lakisha was also amazing at the front desk. She listened to my requests, helped set me up for a smooth stay, and was patient and positive while I struggled to check in after a long ride. Her energy was great. I also looked at the Union Station Cairo Edition Hotel. Getting a room here a couple blocks away was a steal, since the price over there is insane unless you want every little offering. If you’re after a luxury room and a great location, that other hotel may suit you, but this place gives you exceptional service for the price.
The room felt like a cozy studio apartment, with an open layout, kitchen area, and full-size fridge. It was much bigger than a standard hotel room, clean, modern, and thoughtfully laid out, and the whole space looked newly remodeled. I booked through Hotels Tonight for around $80, which felt like an incredible deal for the comfort and space. The hotel is right downtown, but tucked onto a quieter back street just off the main strip, so everything was close without constant traffic or noise. Breakfast ran from 6-10am, and the hot food was fresh and flavorful, better than most hotel breakfasts I’ve had. It tasted like it had been prepared with care by a real kitchen cook. I’ll definitely return. Highly recommended.
After a long day of international travel, I just wanted to shower, but the water was freezing, not even room temperature. The desk said the hotel was full, there were no other rooms, no engineer was available until morning, and I couldn’t get a refund to go elsewhere because cancelling within 24 hours wasn’t allowed. They said the engineer would come in the morning. At 9am, the front desk had no record of the issue because the night associate hadn’t documented it. I was told again that the engineer wasn’t there and to wait until 1pm for a room change. At 1pm, nobody was at the desk, so a security guard took my details and said they’d contact me once a clean room was ready. By 3pm they still claimed there were no clean rooms, even though I watched housekeeping clean several rooms on my floor. Nobody had passed my situation on to the next desk agent. I went down at 5pm, and they still knew nothing about it, but I finally got moved. The new room had hot water, but no AC, so I was stuck in a stuffy, hot room. Staff kept passing along the information and saying an engineer would come fix things, but that person never showed. The rooms are nice, which is the only redeeming quality. Staff seemed incompetent, lazy, or like they just didn’t care, and I didn’t even get a partial refund.
