Hotel Indigo St. Louis - Downtown by IHG

Parking was a block from the hotel, which worked fine for us. We called ahead and they explained how to get to the parking building. Tiffany at the front desk was very accommodating during breakfast, and we enjoyed our stay.

I booked through IHG, but wouldn’t recommend staying here. My 8-year-old daughter found crumbs in her bed, the elevator interior was very dirty, and the light between the headboards didn’t work. The TV was giving me trouble too. When we told the front desk, they said they’d let the manager know, but didn’t offer another room or send maintenance to check the TV. The manager never contacted me. They gave us a free breakfast and two drinks, but breakfast was already included because I paid through IHG. The place was poorly run and not clean.

The check-in staff member didn’t seem to care, and the parking was terrible. Although the hotel is close to the Arch, it isn’t walkable in winter. Inside, the bed had only about two feet of space between it and the wall, and there are no bathtubs anywhere in the building. Our room was freezing, matching the weather outside, and had no fridge, safe, or microwave. They also don’t offer cribs for families with small children. We booked breakfast through our IHG membership, but the waitress treated our family of four like we weren’t there. She took our order from about six feet away, didn’t acknowledge me or the kids, and we ended up sharing one water. My husband ordered hash browns and fruit for the boys to share, and we had enough food on our plates to divide between them, but she forgot the fruit cups. Another party emptied the coffee carafes and left. We often stay at IHG hotels, especially Hotel Indigo at the crossroads in KC, where we love the staff and hospitality, so this was disappointing.

The only thing that bothered me was the shower door design. It’s an unusual setup, and the doors didn’t seal all the way, so water leaked onto the room floor. Nothing major, just irritating. Otherwise, everything was good: friendly staff, clean rooms, and a nice little hotel close to the Arch.
