Moonrise Hotel

The neighborhood was great, and we had an excellent BBQ dinner at a nearby restaurant. There was free parking behind the hotel, but the lot was completely full because of a concert nearby. Our room faced the elevator, and loud guests in the hallway woke me at 3 am, so I'd ask for a room away from the elevators. The hotel was spotlessly clean and in good repair. Reception was a mixed bag: one host was great and full of information, while the other, hmm, less so.

The Moonrise Hotel has a fun modern feel, and our room was clean, comfortable, and laid out well. The staff were friendly and helpful. It's easy to walk to good food, drinks, and music venues from there. Parking was a little tight because there were shows at The Pageant, but that's understandable with the hotel so close to everything. We had a great stay and I'd definitely come back.

We came for a show at the pageant next door, so the location was really convenient for staying overnight. Our king room was nice, with a comfortable bed, fluffy bright white towels, a hair dryer, and a make up towel. The chaise lounge could use a good cleaning, but everything else was good. We were on the 7th floor, right below the bar. It wasn't quiet, but wasn't loud either. The nose machine helped drown it out well enough for me with ocean sounds. I liked needing a key card for the elevator, and we found free parking behind the hotel. There are lots of places to eat within walking distance. We didn't try strange donuts, but Katsaya was a nice place for dinner. This hotel has adult vibes.

The 6th floor was very quiet. I never heard another guest all night, and the front desk person had put us there after mentioning the 7th floor can get noisy from the rooftop bar and lounge. Guest room floors require a keycard, which made the place feel safer. The hotel was easy to navigate, the elevators were quick with almost no waiting, and there were no steps into the lobby or elevator area, which made it really accessible. We were at the Moonrise Hotel on a Monday to see a nearby concert, and the space-themed decor was everywhere, with moons, stars, and memorabilia. Our room had fun vintage-style prints of people posing on old-timey moon-setting props. It was comfortable and had upgraded amenities, a comfy bed, and a large, clean bathroom. My only real letdown was the coffee setup. The coffee was Starbucks, which plenty of people will probably like, but there wasn't much choice in sugar or creamer. We had to leave around 6 am, so we made do. Everyone we met on staff was kind, helpful, and welcoming. Parking was easy, and I had no trouble with my car. There's lots to do and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. I'd absolutely stay again, hopefully longer so I can explore more of the hotel and neighborhood.
