The Westin St. Louis

Eltun at the front desk was professional and courteous. He got us checked in quickly, then suggested places to eat and things to see in St. Louis. Staff like him make a trip more enjoyable. The hotel was lovely and very clean, and everyone was helpful. I’d definitely recommend it.

Finding a bedbug in the room as we were getting ready to leave was deeply upsetting. My son had been bitten, and we hadn’t noticed until our last day. Cleanliness and proper housekeeping should be basic expectations, especially at a Marriott property. The hotel itself is beautiful and has a lovely atmosphere, but the rest of our stay didn’t live up to that. It was a busy Presidents’ Day volleyball weekend, and I know the hotel was crowded, but I had specifically requested housekeeping. One bed was made neatly and the other very sloppily; the bathroom bin was still full, our used towels were left behind, and no fresh ones were brought. When I asked the front desk for towels, they said they’d run out. I eventually got some, but had to go to another floor with a staff member to collect them myself. As a longtime Marriott Bonvoy member, this was the first time I’ve been truly disappointed with one of their properties. I hope management addresses these problems.

Everyone we encountered was consistently kind and friendly, and even my daughters noticed it. We’ll absolutely return to the Westin in downtown St. Louis. As we checked out, we were trying to find coffee and lemonade, and Elijah, the restaurant host, went out of his way to get both and present them so nicely. It wasn’t something he had to do, but it made our morning. Dwayne at valet was wonderful too. We’d forgotten things in the car more than once, and he patiently helped each time, holding the door with a smile and never making us feel like a bother. At the desk, Brittany and Lexie were so kind and helpful that they even shared something from their own stash when we realized we’d forgotten an item. Earlier, our room had been much too hot, but engineer Marcus came right up, fixed it quickly, and explained what had happened. Thanks to the whole Westin team for such a memorable stay.

The room was spacious, and the valet was super nice and made my kids feel special. The location was great, the rooms were cool, and the staff were polite and helpful. Still, I was disappointed by how poorly things seemed cared for. The sofa cushions were dirty, and the sofa bed was so uncomfortable I could feel the springs without pressing down. The chrome handles, phone, and windows were dirty too. The view was lovely, which made the dirty windows especially disappointing. Sad that such a cool place isn’t better maintained. 01/07/26
