Gulf Front Bistro was fantastic. The setting was relaxed, with beautiful views, and the food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Brooke made the meal even better. She was warm, attentive, knew the menu well, and gave us great recommendations. Her friendly service made sure everything was right from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back!

I’m extremely disappointed with how this stay was handled. I booked a day-use room until 6:00 PM and accept that I went about 30 minutes over because I was physically unwell and fell asleep. That part was my responsibility. But the way staff responded was unacceptable. A male staff member came into my room while I was asleep and partially undressed. There was no phone call beforehand and no knock-and-wait that gave me time to respond. My privacy wasn’t considered. If the hotel can’t tell whether a guest is male or female, then a female staff member should be sent when entering an occupied room. After waking me, I was given 10 minutes to leave. While I dressed and gathered my things, two male security staff waited outside the door. It felt intimidating and completely unnecessary, as if I’d committed a crime. I had paid for the room and parking and wasn’t disturbing anyone. I was simply sick and overslept. If I’d exceeded the booked time, I would gladly have paid an extra fee. That would have been the professional way to handle it. My check-in had also been delayed because the room wasn’t ready, but I didn’t complain and waited patiently. When I went slightly over because I was ill, there was no flexibility or basic courtesy. Policies are understandable. The lack of professionalism, privacy, and respect isn’t. Update: It’s now been three weeks since the hotel replied that a manager would contact me, and no one has. I called too and was told to leave a voicemail for a manager, but never got a follow-up. My security deposit still hasn’t been returned.

This is specifically about Pete’s restaurant. Sam B made our night memorable and special. Her attitude, genuine presence, and demeanor went beyond what I expected. She’s an asset to the place. I hope you stay and help train others in the incredible service you bring. You’ve set a higher standard for future Valentine’s weekends. Hope to be back soon and see you again!

My family and I live in Saint Petersburg and chose Island Grand for a pre-Christmas staycation to relax close to home. The resort delivered on that, and we were impressed by what it offers. It’s a beautiful, expansive property that has clearly recovered well since last year’s hurricanes. The restaurants are excellent, and the staff really stood out. Jess, the bartender at the Mexican cantina on site, was incredibly friendly, made fantastic drinks, and kept up a great conversation while looking after other guests. We did run into some service hiccups. The room phone didn’t work, so we were given a direct concierge number instead. The morning after check-in I called for toothpaste and was told it was on its way. Two hours later, nothing, so I called again and got the same answer. After waiting four hours, I went to the front desk to get it myself, and received the smallest tube of toothpaste I’ve ever seen. Even with that frustration, we enjoyed the stay and the resort’s great amenities. Better responsiveness could make the experience truly exceptional.
