RumFish Beach Resort by TradeWinds

While our family waited for rooms to be ready, we ate at Gulfside Kitchen. John S. gave us excellent, above-and-beyond hospitality during a very busy time. He stayed calm and attentive, tailored food and drink suggestions to our large group, and replaced my drink after I clumsily spilled it. After a long travel day and a difficult check-in, he made us feel welcome and valued, and shared useful insight about St. Pete and the resort amenities that improved our stay. The next morning, he greeted my daughter and me by the pool and answered a resort activity question that three resort employees hadn't been able to answer. Later, when family members' beach food order through the app arrived wrong and couldn't be corrected there, I brought the receipt to Gulfside. John S. took it to the kitchen, fixed the mistake, and wouldn't accept payment for his time. I hope Gulfside Kitchen appreciates him as much as he made our family feel appreciated.

Our double queen room with a kitchenette opened right over a main pool and tiki bar, with a beautiful view of the gulf. The beach was gorgeous, with chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas set out every day, plus nice, big towels. We brought our children and grandchildren over and had pizza by the pool, then enjoyed the fun of s'mores at the fire pits. One night we had a terrific dinner at Rumfish Grill, where the giant aquarium beside us made the atmosphere unusually magical. The food and service were great too. Having a bellman take care of all our luggage when we arrived and left was fantastic. I'd love to visit Rumfish Resort again.

We enjoyed staying there. The staff were friendly and really helpful, and the food and drinks were very reasonably priced. My favorite was the sweet potato fries, sweet and salty at once. Kase, a young guy, helped us a few times with setting up the chairs and umbrella. Such a sweet fella.

Mark Marra Music was our second favorite night. He’s a one-man band who plays a bunch of instruments at once, sings great, and brings a ton of energy. We’d come back just to hear him and Tim Balajadia again. Our best night so far was at the Sand Cabina Bar, where Jamie was our bartender. She was spectacular, friendly, full of energy, and made delicious drinks. Tim Balajadia kept us entertained with acoustic sounds, fun vocals, melodies, and great vibes. The whole group was dancing and singing, and even people way off in the distance joined in.
