Comfort Inn St Petersburg North

The room smelled awful, like must, pee, and mildew, and there was a blood stain on my sheet. I saw hair on the towels, stinky, dirty blankets, and pee stains on the toilet seat. I watched a cleaning crew put a blanket on the floor, make a bed with clean sheets, then put that same blanket back on. They don’t clean the blankets. The floors were filthy and stained, so don’t walk barefoot. Elevators had roaches and stink bugs, and the hallways reeked of cleaning fumes, as if they were covering up a smell. I bought my own towels, linens, and cleaning supplies because I refused to ask for more, and cleaned the bathroom and surfaces myself. The refrigerator stank when opened, and the microwave took ten minutes to heat a plate of food. My two beds were different sizes, one like a full and the other a queen. The TV had only 28 channels, no kids’ channels, and the remote didn’t have the advertised casting option. Breakfast was a joke. It ran until 10am, but at 9:30 there were no eggs or sausages left, only waffles, cereal, and toast, and they wouldn’t refill anything. They also took away the muffins without asking if anyone wanted one. I’ll never stay here again. I don’t know how the high rating is possible; it’s misleading. This is a seedy motel and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I should have gotten my money back and gone elsewhere.

I got a fantastic massage voucher and loved it. The room was lovely, and breakfast runs until 9:30, which is really convenient for my activities.

I love Comfort Inns, but I’ve never seen one so poorly maintained. There were roaches in our room on the fourth floor, including one inside the “fresh bed sheets” and others in the bathroom. I showed videos of them. The manager, Cecelia, was terrible, and the GM seemed just as uninterested in guest satisfaction. They refused my refund request. The hotel was fully booked, so we weren’t offered another room, though that hardly seemed useful with an obvious infestation. They offered $60 on a stay that cost nearly $400. The showers were dirty, with calcium buildup and what looked like mold, and breakfast was disappointing too. There are plenty of other hotels nearby. I’d make this a last resort unless you’re okay with bugs and terrible service.

The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable, but the place felt mysterious as soon as I walked in. Low ceilings, dim lighting, and a creaky elevator had me wondering if I’d ever reach my destination. The key card took four tries to open the room; the desk attendant had to do it and blamed the program. I’m six feet tall, and the shower ceiling was only 6 ft. 3 in, which made me feel claustrophobic. There was no curtain that blocked light across the window, just sheer curtains on a damaged rod. The entertainment system was impossible to figure out. Furniture was dented, dinged, and scratched. Breakfast was free, but it was some strange egg imitation and sausage, with lots of Styrofoam and plasticware.
