We were able to get into our room before the usual check-in time, which was a big help after traveling. I was here for one night while passing through for work, and the whole stay went really well. Check-in was easy, and although the room was simple, it was clean and comfortable. We even got to relax by the pool before heading out again. Thanks to the welcoming staff for being so accommodating.

I won’t return to this hotel. I paid the full amount at check-in, and no one told me another fee would be charged to my card at checkout. There was no explanation for the “room and tax” charge. On the Marriott Bonvey app, the reservation showed taxes and fees included in the final price, but that wasn’t how this hotel handled it. Guests should be told about any extra fees or taxes when booking or checking in, not at checkout or afterward.

I’ve been a loyal Marriott customer for years, so this was especially disappointing. The General Manager emailed to say my reservation had to be moved to another hotel because of unforeseen circumstances. My stay was the next day, and I replied as soon as I saw the message, then called the hotel for an explanation and help. I was frustrated that they’d only contacted me by email, with no phone call, and the call made things worse. Sherry was rude and dismissive from the beginning. She didn’t show empathy or try to calm things down, and kept sending me back to General Manager Diana Diaz without offering a useful solution. Hospitality staff should be able to handle a difficult conversation with care, especially when a guest’s plans are affected unexpectedly. Instead, I felt disrespected and got no customer service. I hope leadership looks into this and responds appropriately. This kind of experience damages trust and could keep affecting other guests if nothing is done.

Shara at the Fairfield Inn & Suites St. Petersburg North made my stay amazing. From start to finish, she was professional, kind, and attentive, and I felt welcome and looked after. Her upbeat attitude made a real difference. It's rare to meet someone so committed to taking good care of guests. She’s a real asset to the team, and I’ll definitely come back.
