Mint House St. Petersburg Downtown by Kasa

The pool is lovely, the property feels secure, and it’s very clean. It’s dog friendly, with a great kitchen and large appliances. They even provide free washing machine pods for the set in the unit, plus shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. The evening check-in was a bit of a mess: the desk clerk was so-so, and the card processing had problems even though I had a confirmation and room code. The towels could exfoliate your skin, water pressure was poor, and you’d better shower early before the hot water runs out. The sheets were bleached so stiff they stood up, the pillows felt like dollar store specials, and the mattress seemed like basic memory foam. I’d stay again if I had no other options.

Check-in was easy and tech-forward, and the staff I met were welcoming and helpful. I liked the fun atmosphere and the modern apartment-style room, with plenty of space, quiet, thoughtful design, and a clean feel throughout. The location is fantastic, close to restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and nearby transit, so walking around was easy. I really enjoyed staying here and can’t wait to come back. I’d definitely recommend it in St. Pete.

I usually stick with Marriott Bonvoy for work travel, especially Moxy or AC hotel downtown when I’m in St Pete. I booked Mint House at the last minute during spring break when my usual Marriott options were too expensive for a multi-stay business trip. I’d been skeptical of Airbnb-style lodging because of the limited attention and interaction and poor cleanliness I’ve often experienced, but this studio surprised me. It’s about three blocks from Moxy, in a building I’d assumed was an apartment complex. The location was familiar and great, and the room was spacious, very quiet, comfortable, and clean. It had a full kitchen, laundry machine, and balcony, which you don’t often get when even a mini fridge can be unusual in a hotel room. It was much cheaper than Moxy and just as good, maybe a bit better. I still like Moxy’s rooftop and coffee shop, but it’s only a two-minute walk away. The 24/7 in-person concierge staff were friendly and very helpful. My only complaints were the hard, flat pillows and valet parking, which felt overpriced, though it costs the same at Moxy. I’ll definitely stay again, but I’m bringing my own pillow.

The location is fantastic, right in the middle of the Edge’s Central Ave dining and entertainment area. Front desk and valet staff were excellent and ready to help with my needs and questions. Great value for the money.
