We were a couple on this trip, and the downtown St. Petersburg location made it easy to get around on foot. The Vinoy really lives up to the hype, with attentive, warm staff who know hospitality. The food and drink outlets were all excellent, and Elliot Aster was our favorite. We liked it so much that we ate there three times. The lobby is enchanting, with florals and rich history on the mezzanine level. We also loved the beautiful pool and pool bar, along with the effortless luxury throughout the property. We can’t wait to return.
Christine made my visit feel like a moment of comfort and healing during a really difficult time. After learning I’d recently lost my home in a hurricane, she listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions, and went out of her way to help me feel supported and at ease. Her compassion and professionalism meant more than I can put into words. Everyone I met at the Vinoy Spa was kind, welcoming, and caring, and the spa itself is beautiful and deeply relaxing. I’m so grateful for the experience and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a heartfelt spa visit.
As a Wedding Planner, I loved working with Maddie during the preplanning and with so many Vinoy Team Members on the event day. The Event Staff, Catering Staff, and Hotel Staff we met in the halls were all kind and willing to go above and beyond. They made everything seamless. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting and caring for their Wedding Day. The Property and Location are amazing, with plenty of overnight accommodation spaces in different sizes.
The hotel is pretty, but the service I received was frustrating. As a Platinum member with Marriott, I asked for a late checkout. They said 2pm was the latest, even though Marriott advertises 4pm when the hotel has availability. It was a random Monday, so I didn’t think availability would be an issue. When I asked for 3pm, the man at the front desk said only cheaper hotels offer 4pm checkout, not the autograph collection. I’ve stayed at several autograph Marriotts, and that’s not true. I don’t know why he lied or assumed I hadn’t stayed at other expensive hotels. It was also odd to hear that cheaper hotels are more accommodating instead of having my request handled. I then asked to extend my reservation another night. The front desk couldn’t do it without speaking to a manager, who had gone on break. They said they’d need to try “something else” just to give me a rate and book it. After about five more minutes of trying on the computer, I was so frustrated I left and found somewhere else to work. For the nightly price, I expected better service or rooms that stood out. There are nicer hotels where you’re treated much better. If you don’t mind the drive, I highly recommend the Edition in Tampa. It’s modern, new, and beautiful, and everyone there is so kind. If you want to go to the Vinoy for photos, just get lunch or breakfast at their restaurants and take your pictures, then stay somewhere nicer in looks and personality.
The rooms were a good size and the beds were comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We didn’t try the restaurants, but the in-room dining was decent, and the hotel e-bikes were a fun way to look around. It’s a very nice hotel in a great position with an old world feel. The room got stuffy and hot after we came back from an excursion. The air conditioning worked well, but none of the windows could be opened.
