Hampton Inn & Suites Brunswick

The room was clean and stocked, breakfast was great, and the woman who checked me in was amazing, though I forgot her name. Unfortunately, my later interaction with Sylvia left a bad impression. My daughter competes in pageants in different states, so I book with this hotel frequently, though we usually use room blocks for better deals and barely use my membership. After a simple mistake, Sylvia was rude and dismissive to the kids as they tried to explain what happened. She threatened to kick them out, and it wasn’t until I calmly spoke up that she realized I was an adult with them. No adult should speak to kids like that. I just wanted them to enjoy their weekend. I value treating people with grace and respect, but Sylvia’s manner felt unwelcoming and disrespectful. I expected courtesy and professionalism as a paying guest. I hope management offers more customer service training. This experience changed how I feel about Hampton and I won’t book here again. I’d rather spend my money where it’s appreciated, and I’ll tell my pageant friends and family. One employee’s interaction can damage the hotel’s reputation.

The hotel was okay apart from the hot water problems. The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. I’d ask housekeeping to be careful about saying rude things in Spanish, since guests may understand Spanish. The beds were comfortable, but the TV guide and Wi-Fi need work.

The beds and sheets were wonderful, and the staff were friendly, but this Hampton Inn & Suites is starting to show its age and needs upkeep. The pool was filthy and needed a good scrub. The hot tub seemed out of order, with plywood over it, and the chair lift was rusty. In the lobby common area, the ceiling was peeling, and the kitchen vents were rusty. The walls were scuffed and needed paint or repairs. The shower took forever to get hot and had very little pressure. The TV report needed replacing too, since half the buttons didn’t work and the working ones had to be mashed. Overall, the hotel was good, but the lack of maintenance is becoming obvious.

The room was clean, but it needs updating or at least some maintenance. Paint was peeling on the bathroom ceiling and door, and there was wallpaper damage along the corridor where the cleaning staff had been up and down. The shampoo dispenser was empty. We’re usually very pleased with Hampton Inn’s, but this one wasn’t quite up to par with the others we’ve stayed at.
