The food was great, and the rooms weren't bad, though they felt a little thrown together, with some dirt and stains. My mom and I waited at the bar for 15 minutes, trying several times to wave down the bartender with dark, slicked-back hair. He made eye contact but didn't come over. When Mom finally got a chance to ask for dinner menus and drinks, he more or less waved us off and walked away. We only found out as we were leaving that he'd gone to the restroom. He wasn't kind or attentive.

We were dressed appropriately and had been looking forward to a drink and the view, but the four of us stood at the bar for nearly ten minutes without a word from anyone. Another party was served twice while we waited. When I told the manager, he seemed like he couldn't be bothered. I've stopped at K and P several times with people from out of the area and out of State and usually received great bar service. This visit was a different story. Not sure we'll go back. Unbelievable.

After more than 10 years of visits, I'm done with The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort. The location is still beautiful, but the rooms smell, the carpets are dirty, and the bathroom fixtures are rusty. They're badly outdated and poorly maintained, and that condition is unacceptable at these prices. Since the corporate ownership group bought the resort, it feels like cost-cutting and profit have taken priority over the guest experience, with standards declining across the board. ECHO used to be a highlight. Now the food is underwhelming and overpriced, portions are smaller, the menu is confusing, service is slow, and dishes arrive cold. The online ratings don't reflect what I experienced. Around the pool, loud Bluetooth speakers playing hillbilly music, outside coolers, little supervision, and a chaotic atmosphere have changed the place. The ongoing bird problem is ignored, which raises cleanliness concerns. We checked out early, but were still charged for the extra night, including taxes, resort fees, and other charges. I spoke with the manager by phone, and she refused to refund the night we didn't stay. That only reinforced my sense that guest experience isn't a priority. I've seen companies desperately trying to get money from customers on the existing [sic]. My recent stay at Jekyll Island Club Resort showed me what a difference good management and upkeep make. It was well maintained, well managed, and worth every dollar. It's disappointing to see this once-great property fall so far. Until there's a full renovation and major operational improvements, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

The sunrise over the water was unforgettable, and the sweeping, calm views made the stay feel like a real coastal escape. I also appreciated the thoughtful service and comfortable amenities. This is a historic property, and you can feel that in the rooms. They're not modern, but the character and charm make up for it. A lovely experience from beginning to end.

The property is grand, and its location on the island can't be beat. The room was fine, though a little dated, with a large bathroom but a small, old tub-shower. It's a nice hotel, to be clear. I just don't like its check-in window. I've stayed at hundreds of hotels and never had to wait past 4 for my room.
