Ocean Inn and Suites

We only stayed one night, and would never recommend this place. At check-in, we had to wait for the clerk to return from a smoke break. The room was dirty, with a badly made bed and the bedskirt half on the floor, old food in the fridge and room, and a filthy, moldy showerhead that I had to clean before showering. We hadn't been told when booking that the hotel was being renovated. We would have left, but it was evening and too late to find another hotel. At checkout, I told the clerk about the problems. They said there was nothing they could do and that the manager would call the next day, but no one called. We chose it based on online reviews that were clearly not very current. Stay somewhere else.

Great location and plenty of potential here. The new color was a good decision, and the rooms have lots of space to redesign for today's expectations. Updating the furniture as each floor is renovated would help, as would better kitchenettes. Maybe add an electric pool heater too. Thanks for the good price during construction. My wife and I will definitely be back, and we're looking forward to seeing the remodel finished.

The comfortable bed was about the only good thing in the room. The price and location are the only other draws. Renovations are underway, with drywall dust throughout the halls. The noisy wall unit for heat and AC woke us every time it started during the night, and paint was peeling under it and along the baseboards, obvious signs of water damage. I had to cover the stained, worn chair with a towel before I felt okay sitting on it. The curtains were sheer, so light came through day and night. The bathroom grout had an odd red stain, there was lipstick on the towels, and mold was growing on the shower ceiling. We'd looked forward to getting a good night's sleep away from our kids, but were very disappointed with Ocean Inn and Suites. With so little sleep and the mold and dust in the room and halls, I wouldn't be surprised if we felt ill in the next week. If you want a quiet night's rest, don't book here.

The hotel itself is great, but construction workers came into our room while we were out for the day. I had hung the Do Not Disturb sign and jammed it so it would swing freely if the door opened. They knew the room was occupied because they'd already tried to come in while we were inside on the first morning. The sign was still jammed the second day when we were out.
