In eight years of traveling between hotels for work as a driver, this was the worst place I've stayed. I found a scorpion sharing my pillow for the first time, which terrified and upset me. There weren't any clean towels for washing or drying my face, so I had to use my clothes. The receptionist was rude and nervous with me, and didn't apologize after I showed him the video of the scorpion on my pillow. He even asked, “Will you sleep with me in my room if you do not like the existing rooms?” What a shame. I wouldn't advise anyone to stay here because of the scorpions. Whoever is responsible for the room, equipment and towel cleanliness should be fired for this neglect and indifference.

My husband and I stayed here for a month and a half, and the room and service were horrible. The AC leaked and mold started forming near the door. We kept getting sick, and I wouldn't recommend this inn to anyone with a mold allergy. The room servant knocked, then came in while I was in bed without giving me time to answer the door.

I spent a week here and the last two nights I couldn't sleep because of bedbug bites. The place was filthy, with lots of bedbugs and cockroaches, and the hotel smell stuck to my bags even after I left them outside my house. It's also very expensive for what you get. I really don't recommend staying here.

For the price, this was a surprisingly good place to rest, with amazing customer service. The room was clean, roomy, and stocked with everything you'd expect and then some. Water pressure was fantastic too. You can walk to a gas station, subway, Tractor Supply and a mechanic, with Walmart a bit farther up the road. That Walmart was clean and had MoneyGram and Western Union. Stamford is about 40 minutes from Abilene, and the town's people are lovely and diverse.

The AC was the best part, it cooled the room down, and the sheets were clean. I didn't see bed bugs. The room itself was clean, but there were flies, so bring a swatter. Towels were neatly folded but all stained, and the tub had cigarette burns even though the room was supposed to be smoke free. The shampoo and soap dispensers were empty, so bring your own toiletries, towels and shower shoes. The decor, couch, microwave and refrigerator all looked old, despite the sign advertising newly remodeled rooms. The parking lot gave me a crime movie motel vibe. Stamford TCR was why I was in town, and there are only two motels here, so it's a coin toss where to stay.
