Black Gold Suites Stanley

I used to find the staff great, but whoever runs the place now doesn't seem to care about guests. I've stayed here for multiple weeks, and it's gone downhill fast. My key hasn't worked for five days, so every morning I've needed someone to let me in. The laundry service they used to offer stopped without any notice. Breakfast has gotten worse too, and the air in my room smells damp and unhealthy. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it until they make serious changes.

I can't speak to the cleaning yet since nobody has serviced my room since the takeover. New management started this week, and breakfast on day two looked like this: not enough food, and the serving utensils were tossed on the counter with food stuck to them. Yesterday's gravy sat in an uncovered cereal bowl, not kept at a safe temperature. It feels like they're trying to thin down the guests either by not putting out enough food or by serving it in a nasty way.

Since the new owners and management arrived, breakfast has gone from pretty good to awful, and our room key cards need resetting almost every day. The laundry service was useful for us oil field workers, who already have little free time, but it's gone too. The old management cared about customers and did a much better job. This new management is disgraceful. I hope our company stops using them.

I haven't stayed here yet, but I plan to very soon. I accidentally paid for two nights when I won't be in town. The kind man at the counter explained I had to request the refund through Expedia, where I bought the room. I did that today, and it was taken care of on Expedia, thanks to Black Gold Stanley. The lovely employees helped sort out my mistake, so I highly recommend this hotel location.
