I keep choosing the MVR because of the staff. Everyone on the team goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. Mckenzie, Ashley, Gary, Gabe, Steve, and plenty more have made every trip great. I've stayed numerous times, and this last visit was for our 10 year anniversary. I've never had this kind of experience anywhere else, so thanks to the whole team.

We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay at Mountain Village Resort. It's a clean and convenient base for exploring Stanley and the Sawtooths, with beautiful scenery around it. A simple, scenic place that makes it easy to enjoy the area.

The rooms were very clean, and the place is dog friendly. Customer service was excellent, and the hot springs were amazing. Being able to reserve private springs was great. It's very affordable too, and we'll definitely stay here again.

I ended up sleeping in my car in nighttime lows in the low 40s, which was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I never actually stayed at the resort, so this is only about trying to book a room there. I booked through Expedia in April for a September wedding after having trouble with the resort website. I called Mountain Village first to check that Expedia was a legitimate way to book, and was told it was automated. I got the confirmations and my card was charged. About a week before the trip, my partner emailed about hot springs reservations and included my name and booking details. They replied without mentioning any problem. The day before I was due to leave for Stanley, I called to confirm and learned they had no reservation for me and no rooms available. The front desk person and I spoke several times, but they could only say they didn't know what had happened and hadn't received anything from Expedia. Expedia confirmed that it had sent what was needed and said something must have gone wrong on the hotel's end. The front desk worker said they'd contact the manager and call me back, but never did. With a fireman's ball and a wedding going on, every hotel was booked, so I had nowhere to stay. I know Expedia may not be the ideal way to book, but there were several chances to catch this. Expedia also provided screenshots showing the reservation had been sent to Mountain Village in April. In response to the owner's reply, I understand my name never made it into the reservation system. The front desk attendant and I had tried to work out how that happened. Expedia said it sent everything required and was able to confirm that at the time. My two remaining frustrations are that, over six months earlier, the front desk person had told me Expedia was a valid booking option and that the systems were integrated and automatic. I only used Expedia because the website was giving me trouble and I wanted to secure a reservation. Also, when my partner emailed my name and reservation details a week before the stay, nobody flagged an issue. Her name is Laurie Sherry, and I'm sure her email can be found. I've added Expedia's confirmations to this review.
