The night shift woman was really sweet and helpful, but the owners, or maybe their relatives who live and work there, came across as unfriendly and unwelcoming. The whole place felt like they didn't trust guests. I had to leave a $50 deposit at check-in, even though they had my credit card, and they charged extra when I added one person after asking how many people would be in the room, despite it sleeping four. The room itself was horribly dirty, with dead bugs all over the floor. The bedding did seem clean, at least. A stuffed bear sat in the hallway for two days, and the same dead crickets stayed on the floor by the ice machine. It really didn't seem like they cleaned at all before we arrived. Our toilet was clogged and the air conditioning stopped working, so they moved us to another room. If there were another hotel in town, this place would go out of business.

We arrived at 9 pm and left at noon the next day, but they still wouldn't refund the two nights we didn't use. The service was awful. The room was disgusting and clearly hadn't been cleaned: there was vomit in the air conditioner, a spider in the bathroom, and stains everywhere. The couches, chairs, and drawers looked like they hadn't been vacuumed or cleaned in ages. I wouldn't recommend staying here to anyone.

The day after I rented a room here, I had spots all over my arms and legs. Bed bugs! Don't stay here.

The quiet was the best part of staying here. Star City is a one stop light town, and this is the only hotel for 20 miles. I stayed two days last week, then four days this week, both times in room #209. On the second stay, I lifted a couch cushion and found boards underneath. After my shower on the fourth night, I grabbed a towel and it wasn't clean. All the bathroom towels looked like they'd been washed without soap and folded up. They emptied the trash and replaced the towels each day, but never made the bed. For a four night stay, I expected the linens to be changed at least once. A real yin yang experience.

Dead bugs were in the air conditioner and on the floors. The rooms were dirty, and there was a cigarette butt in the bathroom.
