Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Starkville

I was left with only $20 for the week after the front desk employee kept charging my card when she was supposed to issue a refund. She made charges until the card stopped going through, with $25 as the last one and another $25 declined. She clearly needs more training to tell a refund from a charge. She had no idea what she was doing.

The room itself was in rough shape: it smelled awful, the bed was rock hard, and cracks around the door looked large enough for rats to get through. There were dirty towels, roaches, and a filthy, rusty fold-out bed that looked neglected for years. The refrigerator didn’t work, and neither did the room phone. The area also felt creepy and unsafe. This Days Inn in Starkville, Mississippi needs serious cleaning, repairs, and better management. Between the insects, poor room condition, broken basics, and uncomfortable setup, it was a very disappointing stay. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The price was decent, breakfast was decent, and it was quiet, with no riffraff hanging around the parking lot, which was a plus. But I saw a few bugs in the room, couldn’t plug the tub to bathe my 3yr old granddaughter without using a washcloth, and the pool wasn’t open. The pool was the main reason we were going to stay.

There was mouse poop in the dresser, the beds were so hard they felt like wood, and the TV volume kept fading out. We couldn’t bathe or shower properly because the shower lever was broken and there was no way to plug the tub. The water only got lukewarm, and I still haven’t received my deposit back.
