Sleep Inn State College near Penn State

The friendly, attentive staff and the breakfast were the best parts. We were pleasantly surprised by how much the team seemed to care about our comfort. There are plenty of food choices nearby, and Uber pickup was easy. For the football game, though, the stadium was still about a 45-minute walk away. We paid roughly $750 a night for two queens during a Penn State home game, but the price isn’t what drives my review. The room simply wasn’t up to standard. There was a layer of dust on the lamp, and looking behind the nightstand was what settled our rating. The shower and toilet had scum rings too. We didn’t photograph those, but at a similar price other places were updated and clean.

The staff made the trip memorable for me and my son. They were attentive, polite, and genuinely kind. I’m picky about cleanliness, and our room was extremely clean; it was refreshed while we were out, and the shared spaces and bathrooms were neat as well. We visited 11/6-11/9 for a Penn State tour and the football game. The stadium was a 20-25 minute walk, and there’s a pizza and brew pub across from the hotel with good food. Breakfast is served daily, with rotating choices like eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, coffee, and fresh fruit. Worth every penny. I’ll recommend it to anyone.

I’ve stayed at hotels around the country and internationally, and this is among the cleanest and friendliest places I’ve been. The staff went out of their way to make me comfortable, and anything I asked for was provided. If you’re in the area, this is the hotel I’d book. You won’t be disappointed. ~Valarie Savage

I keep coming back here when I stay in the area. I’ve tried plenty of hotels, and this one is my favorite. Everyone is friendly and goes out of their way to make the stay enjoyable.
