Days Inn by Wyndham Statesboro

We checked several rooms and found hair on the floor, sink, and tub in each one. One had a roach, and another had blood stains on the furniture. The staff member on duty was as kind as he could be and told the manager he'd seen it all himself. I'd read that the manager had refused someone a refund, and they did the same to us tonight.

The stay was so unpleasant that I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. The reservation process was disorganized too: the desk associate couldn't find our booking until I showed her the confirmation email, and staff didn't know we were bringing our dog even though we'd booked through Bring Fido. The room was dirty everywhere, and I felt disgusted touching the bed, switches, handles, or anything else. There was a previous guest's key on the entertainment center beneath the TV, and it seemed like the only thing done after checkout was making the beds. Given that they missed the key, I doubt the room's condition was checked either. The sheets had large stains, so we used the disposable sheets and pillowcases we'd brought along. In the bathroom, we wore shoes to avoid the floor and didn't want to use the stained washcloths, so we washed with our hands. The toilet was filthy, with what looked like mold around the top rim, and we covered the seat with toilet paper before using it. Black mold on the bathroom ceiling irritated my allergies when I was in or near the room. We didn't trust the sink water enough to brush our teeth, so we used bottled water from home. The room was far below our standards, but after seeing it, we couldn't imagine another room being any better and didn't ask to switch. Breakfast was included, but I didn't feel comfortable eating there or using their dishes and utensils. We wouldn't have chosen to stay here if we could give the room and service zero stars.

The lobby staff were friendly, and when I had a plumbing problem, they sent maintenance over to look at it right away. The room was somewhat clean, but the fridge was warm inside and had a broken or missing leg. Still, it was a little better than the Quality Inn in Statesboro.

It was a very peaceful stay, and the place was clean with good amenities. Every staff member was friendly and helped me however they could. Days Inn has always stood for good quality to me.
