The room smelled strongly of smoke, and it looked nothing like the clean, well-kept place shown online. There were holes in the chair and the door, and the whole room seemed badly maintained. When I asked management for a refund and raised these problems, they refused to address them or take responsibility. The service and lack of professionalism were really disappointing. Don't waste your money here. There are better places that actually maintain their rooms and care about guests.
The breakfast room was clean, but there was hardly any food and no cream for the coffee. In my room, the ceiling was peeling, the toilet paper holder was broken so the roll fell onto the floor, and there was nowhere to hang clothes. The floor was dirty too. I had asked for an upper floor, but staff didn't honor that request and told me the room they assigned was “A beautiful room.” It wasn't to me. I've enjoyed many Quality Inns, so this was a real letdown. Definitely a Low Quality Inn, and the worst property I've ever used.
The lobby was dark and unwelcoming, and the pool was closed. The breakfast buffet was just cold muffins and small, kid-sized yogurt cups. In Room 119, the first things we noticed were a missing lampshade, a filthy couch, and poor lighting. The Wi-Fi wouldn't connect, despite being advertised as free. The pillows were much smaller than standard, and the sheets looked dingy enough that I couldn't tell if they were clean. There was a strange stain under the picture's glass, dirty floors, and no smoke detector. The bathroom door had a hole and water damage at the bottom, where the “wood” was peeling. The shower looked filthy, probably stained for good, as did the toilet. Someone had used the complimentary shampoo before we arrived, and there was a hidden used bar of soap with pubic hairs on it. While we sat at the desk, roaches took over the room. Our door wouldn't latch unless we slammed it. The chain lock was installed wrong and sat too low, with nowhere to hook it. The closet had four mismatched hangers. This was one of the worst hotels we've stayed in.
After just one night, we checked out even though we'd booked two. The curtains were broken and wouldn't close all the way, the pillows were tiny couch throw pillows, and my daughter could see dust and trash on top of the fridge. I also had to leave the water running for five minutes to get hot. I couldn't get into the fitness room because the keys wouldn't open it, which was disappointing. The man who checked me in was kind and polite, but he said my room number out loud. That's a huge safety issue, even though nobody else was in the lobby then. The location also felt odd, and it looked like there were long-term guests. Next time, I'd set aside more money for somewhere like the HGI or Hampton inn.
We left as soon as we saw the room and got a refund. It was disgusting. We had rented a jacuzzi room, and while the rushed renovations over the years weren't necessarily an issue for a budget hotel, the lack of cleaning was. There was animal feces, walls that looked unscrubbed for years, and a couch with deep stains and burns. The bed speaks for itself in the photos. Completely unacceptable and, frankly, unhealthy.
