Fairfield Inn by Marriott JFK Airport

We arrived late and left early, so we saw Mark at midnight and again at 5 a.m. He was kind and full of energy both times. When the airport shuttle was full, he went out of his way to make sure we were looked after. The room was a little small, but very clean and comfortable for my wife and me. I rarely leave reviews, but Mark made the stay a five-star experience.

The shuttle to JFK was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and fine, but otherwise pretty mediocre. The rooms and common areas felt just okay, and there was hardly anywhere decent nearby to get food or coffee. It’s close to JFK, which is probably the main reason to stay here. Nearly three hundred dollars for this feels like poor value, just because it’s New York.

For three nights and four days, we kept asking for room service each evening and were told it would be handled the next day. It never was. The rooms weren’t cleaned, the trash overflowed, and the air smelled of damp towels and garbage. The toilet, sink, and floors went uncleaned for the entire stay. On top of that, the rooms and bathrooms were extremely small. Disappointment barely covers it.

David and the receptionist were very nice and helpful, and our room was clean and wonderfully quiet. As a light sleeper, I really appreciated that. Breakfast could be better, but we were happy with the stay overall.
