GLō Best Western Brooklyn NYC

The room was small, as expected in New York, but pleasant overall. The bedroom was spotless, the bathroom clean, and all the linens fresh. The bathroom had only a bar of soap and conditioner. Its door is shared with the closet and doesn't close all the way, leaving about an inch of a gap. There was a hair dryer, iron and board, ice holder, cups, and coffee maker in the room. I couldn't find a do not disturb sign at any point, so room service will come in if you're away even if you've said you don't need service. Snacks are available by the checkout desk, and there's a smoking area out back in the parking lot. The hotel is two and a half blocks from a subway, with easy access to Manhattan.

It's a cute, very clean hotel with extremely friendly staff, and the room was small but efficiently laid out. We could walk to Industry City, Sunset Park, the museum, Chinatown, and lots of restaurants. We were out of towners and didn't know the area, but got lucky and found street parking right alongside the hotel. With only eight spots in the lot, advertising free parking is misleading. It was quiet until Saturday night, when there seemed to be lots of people outside in the stairwell and through the halls. The walls and ceilings are thin, the halls narrow, and we could even hear a couple having sex through the ceiling. Thanks to the staff for their kindness and hospitality. We'll try to stay again.

The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated, with modern, artistic wallpaper, and the bathroom was spacious. But they're small, and there is no room service beyond cleaning. The tub is low and not convenient for a bath. For $288 a night, the basic fleece blanket should be better quality. There's no fridge or microwave in the room, though either could fit where the bedside table is. That would help, since food options nearby are very limited and the hotel only has small snacks. The Grab and Go selection was water from a 24-pack, snack chips, a granola bar, and a peach, with no fresh baked goods, juice, or sandwiches.

I had a lovely view of the water, and there are shops nearby, including a small shopping center within walking distance. The place also felt very secure, with a police substation across the street and no siren. I spent seven days here while attending a funeral and loved the place. It's a new facility with a comfortable bed and a great shower. The staff were fantastic and always ready to help. Jeannie kept me fed with a delicious FREE breakfast: eggs, bacon, breads, muffins, croissants, oatmeal, and a waffle maker. Coffee, tea, and juice were available 24 hours. I highly recommend it.
